Betrayal – A Reflection

As I continue to sing Holy Scriptures I am reminded that Jesus was Betrayed and Tempted by the devil…When Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus he betrayed himself for when we harm others we harm ourselves…The words that Jesus say to describe the one who betrays him are true…Jesus did not condemn Judas Iscariot rather Judas Iscariot condemned himself via a bad choice…Even the devil had enough sense not to betray Jesus Christ of course the devil being a fallen angel had already betrayed God himself and as such was already expelled from heaven…One could say that the devil worked through Judas Iscariot for the betrayal…This could be true but at the end of the day it was the choice that Judas Iscariot made that resulted in the death of Jesus Christ…Mankind betrays himself when mankind makes bad choices…As I continue to sing Holy Scriptures I find I am becoming more enlightened and realizing that we all make mistakes we all make bad choices at times…There is no perfect human being which is humbling and comforting…Comforting for we can always repent of our fallen ways brought about by concupiscence which is our tendency to lean towards sin via negative and bad thoughts…I allow for small errors when I sing holy scriptures so you will notice in Mark Ch. 14 that I repeat the last line or sentence for clarity…If my error is not easily remedied by repeating a word or sentence then I will redo the whole chapter and verse…I am not a perfect human being…Jesus Christ is right when he says that it is not what enters a man that defiles a man but what comes out of his mouth that defiles man…By man I include women and how we defile ourselves often happens via gossip or spreading rumors about ones we do not like…To do that is wrong and defiles us…We are made up of energy too and Jesus Christ is correct when he says that what does not defile a man in terms of exiting his mouth ends up in the privy…The privy meaning the bathroom…We may not always be able to control the thoughts that enter our heads but we can control how we handle these thoughts by not speaking out loud gossip or other such negative thoughts…Not always easy but that is the battle we wage in the esoteric do we entertain negative thoughts or do we let them go out the other end the privy?…When we do not entertain negative thoughts we become more positive…I recently learned that for every negative affirmation we hear that we need to hear a positive affirmation at least 21 times to remedy for entertaining the negative affirmation…When we are abused as children we are too little to know what to do about negative words…It is when we become adults that we can learn not to entertain negative affirmations…I like to make people laugh because humor goes a long way so instead of calling myself a “feckin idiot” I will say 21 times I’m a genius without saying I’m a bloody genius as that sounds sarcastic…Tone is also very important when we tell ourselves positive affirmations…If we tell ourselves something positive with a hint of sarcasm that undoes the good we are trying to do…It is my hope that as I remedy for choices badly made giving thanks every day in all things that others who read what I say will benefit in a positive way…We are all unique so what works for me which is singing sacred scriptures and writing reflections may not work for others…I say do what works best for you so that you can become more positive and live life more fully…We remember that Jesus Christ came so that we can live life more fully…

…Amen…
